After several last ditch effort to keep their client alive, Georgia has executed its only female death row inmate. Kelly Renee Gissendaner died by lethal injection of pentobarbital today, Wednesday at 12:21 a.m. at the state prison in Jackson. She was convicted of murder in the February 1997 slaying of her husband.
